09 Feb Valentine Engagements
Well, it’s almost here…….Valentine’s Day! I think it may be the 2nd most celebrated engagement day. It was very close to V-Day when I was sitting under a rainbow in Maui coming down from a dormant volcano, we stopped on the side of the road to look at the rainbow and Jim asked if I would like to get married. I looked at him and said “are you serious?”. Now isn’t that romantic? He looked back and said, yes…. he thought I was going to say no. Once again I asked, “are you serious?”. And once again he said yes. Then the big moment arrived and I said “sure”! I don’t think it worked out exactly as he had planned but it’s kind off like our relationship, full of laughs and corny stuff but with lots of love and enjoying life.
As I tell brides when they come do their planning session a few weeks before the big wedding, do your timeline but trust me, it will be off and probably by at least 20-30 minutes. Something will go wrong, but hey, the guests have no idea and as long as it all works out, that is what matters and we just want you to have fun and enjoy your wedding. It only happens once (we hope) and we want it to be a day you remember and look back and say, that was a great day! I’m type A and I’ve learned that over the years, a lot of life just doesn’t work out the way you planned it but it all works out in the long run. So there is no need to get upset or stressed out if it doesn’t go exactly as planned, it’s just all about having fun, laughing and enjoying your life!
