26 Jan Our BEST Wedding Accessory – the 57 Chevy!
Well, this 57 Chevy has been in my husband’s family since 1963. It’s the car he learned to drive in and he drove to high school, the same for his brother. It’s the car that Jim and I drove to the Whitestone Inn on April 30th, 2013 so that we could get married. It was a beautiful day and not too hot, so to save my hair, we drove with the windows up! So, it’s got a lot of sentimental value to us. When we bought The Kincaid House, we decided to take the car and store it in the garage. Little did we know the 57 Chevy would become the most valued item that we offered. We actually never intended to use it for weddings but when the brides and families walk into the garage and see it, they just smile. So, I began telling them, if they want, they can use it in their pictures. So far, almost every bride (and groom and fathers’) love using the car. A few weeks ago we took the car to Atomic Speed Shop to have it restored. It’s going to take a few months but we hope to have it back for the prom, so that the beautiful guys and gals can have photos with it. And of course, it’s going to be in pristine condition for our 2018 wedding season! So now, not only does it hold a special place in our hearts but for every couple that marries at The Kincaid House, it holds a special place in their hearts.
